on my machine, I use the CS nvidia drivers with XV, and it also plays
only in the upper left corner at a size of 1024x768 pixels, whilst the
display is 1280x960 pixels.
This of course is good for me, since this very left upper corner is the
one which is output on the TV, and my xorg.conf says so:
Option "MetaModes" "1280x960,1024x768; 1152x864,1024x768;
1024x768,1024x768"
Though the image is not cropped with my version, so the problem should
lie somewhere else....
