[MPlayer-users] Disabling seeking while reading from stdin

Hi,

I'm trying to get the output from an ieee1394 handycam displayed on a 
Linux console framebuffer with the following command:

 dvgrab --format raw - | mplayer -vo fbdev -vc ffdv -ac libdv -nolirc 
-ao alsa -demuxer 22 -

This is reasonably successful but I get screens full of:

Cannot seek backward in linear streams!0 5708/5708 13% 37% 23.5% 0 0
Seek failed
Cannot seek backward in linear streams!0 5709/5709 13% 37% 23.5% 0 0
Seek failed
Cannot seek backward in linear streams!0 5710/5710 13% 37% 23.5% 0 0
Seek failed
Cannot seek backward in linear streams!0 5711/5711 13% 37% 23.5% 0 0
Seek failed
Cannot seek backward in linear streams!0 5712/5712 13% 37% 23.5% 0 0

If I understand the man page seeking isn't possible when reading from 
stdin. (Which makes sense somehow.) Is there some way to explicitly 
disable  this seeking?

Or perhaps something I should be doing differently?
