Solved.

Had to add brightness, contrast, saturation and hue parameters.

FTR, this is the command line I am now using.

mplayer tv:// -tv
driver=v4l2:input=2:norm=2:device=/dev/video0:brightness=50:contrast=30:saturation=50:hue=50
