[MPlayer-users] Codec Failed Message

I've been experimenting with trying to convert video for my handhelp
device, a Nokia N800.  I'm using mencoder, from current CVS, checked
out on 2/24/2007, and get the following:

As you can see, I'm already using "-ni", to try to work around that error.

Any suggestions?  I've also tried "-ofps 24000/1001", as this is
progressive scan content.
