These are the so called EVO-Files, which have been exctrated using the
key gained by some HD DVD player software. Strictly speaking, HD DVD is
not playable, but the decrypted files (almost) are. Though if I remember
correctly, HD content still creates some problems, whilst SD content
does work quite fine.
