[MPlayer-users] Problems connecting to JACK daemon

Hi all,

This is my problem; gmplayer gives me the error "[JACK] cannot open
server" when I try to run it, whether or not a JACK server is running.

[nels at nels ~]$ ps aux | grep jackd
nels     25566  1.1  4.1  20972 21132 ?        SLsl 15:15   0:06 jackd
-v -R -dalsa -r48000 -p128 -n2 -D -Chw:0 -Phw:0 -H

I have MPlayer-1.0rc2 compiled from source. The ./configure stage
detected JACK successfully.

Yum tells me that I have tha following versions of JACK;
jack-audio-connection-kit.i386           0.103.0-2.1.1015.svn.f
jack-audio-connection-kit-devel.i386     0.103.0-2.1.1015.svn.f
installed

Any ideas? I look forward to finding out what I have got wrong...
