Clear enough, but the device is there, VLC plays it. Even more: in the
example run with dvd://1 I sent, you can see that the device is there
and dvdnav/dvdread gets to it. Here it is:

You are right about the missing /. In fact, if I play from / the
device is found. Can it be a bug in stream_dvdnav that strips the
leading / ? Any ideas?
Also, have you got any idea as to what those errors mean:

Finally, what's best to use, internal or external dvdnav/dvdread/dvdcss?
