[MPlayer-users] Improve video saturation

Is there a plugin to change the range of video saturation?  In Photoshop, I can take a picture, select different sections of similar color/darkness, and adjust the saturation level.  Usually, the bottom and top of the graph is empty, and can be cut off, so the saturation level increases without any loss of image quality. Also, I can move the "midpoint" in a way to keep the image bright, without introducing foggy effect. This is much better than blindly increase of saturation of a whole image.  I think people in the know probably have made something like this.  Any hint?  Thanks.
