Unless I'm misunderstanding, as an alternative you should be able to
open a DOS window type "C:\path\to\mplayer.exe " and drag & drop the
video file onto the DOS window. The path\to\the\video.file should be
added to the current command line.
Of course, this will probably give the same symptoms as you describe
in your other posts, but it's worth trying to be sure.
