I try to use dumpstream under OS X 10.4.8 with Mplayer 1.0rc1 and when I
try this command from the folder "/Applications/MPlayer OSX PPC.app/
Contents/MacOS/":
"MPlayer OSX PPC" -dumpfile /file.rm -dumpstream rtsp://qstream-
rm.qbrick.com/00928///kluster/20071201/071202JULKALENDERN.rm
then I get this -> MPlayer OSX PPC: command not found
However, if I put the prefix "./" before like this:
"./MPlayer OSX PPC" -dumpfile /file.rm -dumpstream rtsp://qstream-
rm.qbrick.com/00928///kluster/20071201/071202JULKALENDERN.rm
---->then mplayer.app starts up:
"2007-12-06 12:21:52.066 MPlayer OSX PPC[2783] =====================
MPlayer OSX Started ====================="
and that's it. No attempts to connect or anything like that.
Funny enough if I put a symlink in /usr/local/bin and try to use that
with or without the "./" then I get this:
---->"2007-12-06 12:25:32.665 mplayer[2785] No Info.plist file in
application bundle or no NSPrincipalClass in the Info.plist file, exiting"
Why do I get different results depending if I startup with a symlink or
from the app itself? But the main issue is why does nothing happen when
I startup mplayer like this? Something needs to be escaped in the URL or
the syntax be different or is the dumpstream feature missing in 1.0rc1?
How can I troubleshoot this situation? Any pointers you could give? My
apologies if this is all well known knowledge, but I googled it and
found very little I could use.
