First off, please use a mail client able to deliver readable plain text
output, as on this mailing list HTML will get thrown away and we're
stuck with this mess.

Regarding your problem, it might very well be that the DVD you use is
protected by some additional copy-protection-crap, as Déjà Vu is from
Buena Vista and those are known to use some sort of mechanism which do
not work well with mplayer.

It has nothing to do with the font.

As you can see from the errors: *** Zero check failed in ifo_read.c:1723
etc. there are serious problems reading the IFOs. IFO files are not
encrypted, so this has nothing to do with a found or not found libdvdcss.

The copy protection with Buena Vista (to my knowledge) provides several
erroneous IFO files when accessing through the UDF or ISO filesystem,
only accessing them via raw sector access (at least that's how I suppose
DVD player access them) will deliever you a correct IFO file. This
hasn't been implemented at all.

The copy protection with Sony DVDs has intact IFO files, but erroneous
VOB files which require the usage of the IFO files to steer around them.
DVDNAV can be used to do that.

I don't know if Déjà Vu in Italy is also from Buena Vista (I suppose
so), but there might be the chance that there's another company which
uses another different copy protection method.
