this seems to work.

But now I want to pipe the output to ffmpeg? I tried:

mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy -o pipe.avi berlitz_junior_raw.avi  
volver_raw.avi

ffmpeg -i pipe.avi -vcodec mpeg4 -acodec aac out.mp4

...but this results in an ffmpeg error:

"pipe1.avi: error while opening files"

Any info, hints on this one?
