This is your problem. It can't open the statistics file, which should
have been generated by the first pass.

Oh the fun of translations ;-))). And no, "video pilot" is not the right
translation of "pilote video" ("video output" is).
And in case of mencoder "video output" actually means "encoder", the
message is like that due to the shared architecture of mencoder and mplayer.
