Probably the usual problem, dvd:// plays only the first title, which in
this case does not contain much it seems.
Either use lsdvd to find the longest one and play that or just try
dvd://2
dvd://3
...
dvd://8
(8 is the last title for this DVD)

That is rather old version though...
