[MPlayer-users] problem reading dvd

Trying to play a dvd on my pc with mplayer and I get the following 
problem:

CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz (Family: 15, Model: 2, Stepping: 9)

Compiled with runtime CPU detection.
mplayer: could not connect to socket
mplayer: No such file or directory
Failed to open LIRC support. You will not be able to use your remote 
control.

Playing dvd://1.
libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.9 for DVD access
libdvdread: Invalid IFO for VMGM (VIDEO_TS.IFO).
Can't open VMG info!
No stream found to handle url dvd://1


Exiting... (End of file)


The DVD is original, brand new, no scratches. Any insight anyone? Thanks!
