[MPlayer-users] How's that possible?!

Hi,

i have a certain dvd which plays just fine in mplayer: 'mplayer 
dvd://4 -sid... -aid...' no probs, no errors.

But when i try to dump the vob-file or just the video stream to disk (mplayer 
dvd://4 -dumpstream-dumpfile ...) i get tons of I/O errors 
in /var/log/messages, making hardly any progress.
mencoder dvd://4 -ovc copy -nosound -o fails as well.

Is that some sort of copy protection? (Disk looks like copper)
Anyway, i dont get it. mplayer seems to be able to access and output the data 
on playback but unable to write it to disk. What gives?!
