[MPlayer-users] [BUG] mencoder cannot encode to the required bitrate

Hello, sorry for my very bad "spaghetti-googled-english", but i don't
speak it.

K, i have apparently the same problem.

I have tried to encode a avi format from "dumped" dvd title (pal-4:3-25
fps) with the last Mencoder svn r19947.

This is the command-line:

mencoder -mc 0 5.vob -vf scale=640:480,crop=640:272:0:104,harddup -sws 1
-ovc lavc -oac mp3lame -lameopts abr:br=128 -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=800:autoaspect:mbd=2:trell:vme=5:v4mv:cbp:vmax_b_frames=2
-af lavcresample=44100 -o 5.avi -ffourcc DX50.

The result is a stream (*5.avi*) with 1094.0 kbps; the file size is 41 MB

The same operation has been made with Mencoder 1.0pre8-4.0.1 and the
result is not identical:

now the bitrate is 800.4 kbps and the size is 31.7 Mb.

Uhm... some suggestions?
