You are using a fairly new svn snapshot, right? I've just encounted this 
problem after svn updated today, it looks like there is some modification in 
the libswscale module, and I420 is just disappeared (r19878). This is just my 
wild guess, but I think it will not hurt if you try to downgrade mplayer and 
see what will happen.
