[MPlayer-users] same brightness after restarting mplayer

Hello all

I'm writing a video player for windows and linux. It uses MPlayer as 
it's backend. I use 1.0pre8 on both plattforms and encountered a 
inconsistency:

On windows, if you set the brightness to a value and exit mplayer, the 
next time you start it again, the default brightness is restored.
On linux (on the same computer), the brightness is still the same after 
restarting mplayer.

Does the operating system handle that or do I have slightly different 
versions?
