Do you mean to say "not allowed"? I was not aware of this, and wrote
this filter intending it to be more of a band-aid than a long term
solution. Obviously the right way to handle VFR output is to have
mencoder output files in VFR-capable formats with proper timestamps. I
had assumed, however, that opening a file would not be a problem, as
there is already a filter (divtc) that operates in a two-pass mode
using a logfile.
