[MPlayer-users] Forcing framerates

I have a question about forcing framerates with MPlayer. If I have a
video encoded at, say, 25 frames per second and force MPlayer to play
it back at 24 frames per second via the -fps option, how will this
affect A/V synchronization? Does the "autosync" mechanism prevent
desynchronization in this example and if so, how exactly? Thanks in
advance.
