[MPlayer-users] Skipping first video packet and video shown 1/4 problems with Quicktime/MOV files

I am new to this mailing list. I'd like to ask a question about decoding
problem using MPlayer.

1. For some mov files made from iMovie, the first GOP is not decoded
correctly using MPlayer (dev-CVS-050928-16:38-3.4.2). For some reason, the
first video packet is skipped which is an Intra frame. The video then
resumes until the start of the second GOP. I suspect it's a demuxer issue.
The file can be played correctly by other players, e.g., ffplay, QuickTime.

I have put one example under the ftp site
/MPlayer/incoming/decode_problem_imovie_h264.mp4.

2. Again, for some other Quicktime/MOV files (mp4v video + mp4a audio), only
1/4 of the video is shown, i.e. 320x240 versus 640x480. It looks like the
container resolution is 320x240 but the video stream resolution is 640x480.
Quicktime plays as 640x480.
fps file: /MPlayer/incoming/v640x480_shows_320x240_problem.mp4

Please kindly let me know if those are known issues and are there patches
for those issues. Thanks.

bill
