[MPlayer-users] OSD problem (bug) stops (loops?) mplayer

i've got a problem of type: problem. ;-P

i can't use anymore OSD, in this way: just when a movie is playing fine,
when i hit, for example, 'o', or some other key, which should write
something on the OSD  -for example, 'v', or 'd', or... you understood,
no?- mplayer stops, the movie stucks to the current frame, the OSD
doesn't show up, mplayer use 99.9% or less (little) of the CPU. i can
only stop it with a ctrl-c.

i don't think it's a font problem, or font rendering problem, since i
can read/use perfectly subtitles from a mkv file, for example.

the same problem it's here when i start mplayer as:
mplayer -osdlevel X file.avi
with X >= 2

i'm using mplayer from svn, without runtime-cpu-detection, without
altivec (i'm on linux ppc g4), tried also without --language option
(in configure)

i tried to find out the problem, but really wasn't able to. :(
if someone has some idea or could drive me to the right way....
with -msglevel all=9 i couldn't understand a lot more, sigh..........
i'm trying to understand the problem, in the meantime
