[MPlayer-users] sound-in to sound-out

Hi guys,

I have an external USB TV tuner/capture device, which I use to transfer
video from a VCR to my notebook.  The VCR and tuner are connected via AV
connectors (VCR has no S-Video).

If I pass  alsa:adevice=hw.3,0  to mencoder, the sound makes it into the
video file, and all is fine. But when i pass the same thing to mplayer,
like when I'm searching for something on the tape, I get "Audio: no
sound"

What am I doing wrong?

My only workaround so far is to plug the audio into the line in on my
notebook, but that that means the sound plays even if MPlayer is not
playing the video (of course, because the sound is coming directly from
the VCR).
