[MPlayer-users] unknown option font_text_scale

Dear Sirs,

"hi" from the newbie to the list. I have a maybe very simple question, but did 
not find the solution. After compiling and installing mplayer it displays 
real-audio and real-video streams very well. but without of any skin. When I 
ask for gmplayer, the answer is:

/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-bitstream-vera/VeraMoBd.ttf doesn't look like a 
font description, ignoring.

Looks like a font problem. I have installed a font as described in the manuel 
in:

$ /usr/local/share/mplayer/font$ ls -l
insgesamt 296

The downloaded skin is on the right place:

The configure file says:

 153 --enable-gui          enable gmplayer compilation (GTK 1.2 GUI)[enable]
1375 _gui=yes

and about the font:

 179 --disable-freetype   Disable freetype2 font rendering support [disable]
 180 --disable-fontconfig Disable fontconfig font lookup support [autodetect]
1397 _freetype=no
1398 _fontconfig=no

freetype and fontconfig have been "auto" before - with the same result. I had 
a look to mplayer/TOOLS/subfont-c/README. But it seems just to describe, how 
to get a valid font to mplayer/fonts.

Now I don't know, what to do. I just want to have the player running with any 
font and any skin. Please give me a hint.
