[MPlayer-users] Mencoder: No sound on recorded video

Hi.

This is probably a fairly simple question, to which I am doing something dumb. 
(Note that I have googled with no resolution.) I just upgraded my machine 
from an 1.2GHz Athlon to an AthlonXP 1800. In switching the board/chip/RAM, I 
also found myself recompiling the kernel. I had to switch to ALSA from the 
depricated OSS drivers. Now whenever I record with mencoder, I hear the sound 
at the speakers, but the recorded video has no sound. I am using webvcrplus 
as the interface to the listings, but did not change anything there. I can 
also watch live tv using tvtime, and sound is fine. 

Can anyone point me in the right direction to figure out where I'm losing 
sound switching from OSS to ALSA?
