Dear Mencoder User,
Hello, I am compiled "mplayer-1.0pre7try2" with "xvidcore" and "libmp3lame"
support.
When a make a XVID file using "mplayer" it plays nicely on Linux and Windows
using
"mplayer" but does not work with "Windows Media Player". I get "COOD1199"
errors.
I have tried Xvid 1.1.0 codec for Windows but no luck.
The funny thing is that "tmpgenc-2.524.63.181", "mplayer-1.0pre7" and
"vlc-0.8.5" for
Windows can play the movies that I make.
Windwos Media Player 10, Virtual Dub 1.5.15 and Video Convetrer 7.1 cannot
open
my Xvid movie. However, I have no problems with playing Xvid samples I find
on the
web.
Can somebody tell me what is wrong? Some people have identified some LOCALE
problems in Mencoder written Xvid files.
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=88562
if this is treuew Does anybody know how to patch "mplayer" so that it writes
'\0' in the the space
of "en_US.UTF-8/LC_M".
I really want to make Mplayer/Xvid/Mp3lame encoding to work properly. I have
no problems
with Mplayer/mpeg4/xvid with WMP but quality is crap.
Thanks a lot
