[MPlayer-users] audio filter equalizer output distortion

Hi all,

I want to use the audio filter equalizer setting.
As a test, I've inserted this line into the command-line and config files

af=equalizer=11:11:10:5:0:-12:0:5:12:12
(or)
mplayer -af equalizer=11:11:10:5:0:-12:0:5:12:12 filename

and the output is distorted to static level sound.

What am I missing to filter the output in a reasonable way?
