I downloaded a ready-to-execute version from the MPlayerOSX site, but  
if you'd like, I can try to compile a static library version of  
mplayer for your site. I'll admit, when it comes to compiling  
software, all I really know is to compile software for use on this  
machine. all I need to do is enable static linking, right?
