First off, thanks for the fast answer.
I've got a Radeon 9700 Pro, so it should not be so different from yours
(perhaps being a mobility card makes yours somewhat different).
Anyway, I'm using the 5.12 Catalyst, and it makes it look like two adapters.
I also tried the -adapter command, but the effect was as follows ->
the desktop was extended to the secondary(TVout) using catalyst, and
Theatre mode was enabled for this one
-adapter 1 : made a window on primary(monitor) and a fullscreen overlay
on secondary(TVout)
-adapter 2 : made a window on secondary(TVout) and a fullscreen overlay
on primary(monitor)
When I disabled Theatre mode on the secondary,
-adapter 2 : made exactly the same
-adapter 1 : made just one window on the primary(monitor)
