Hi,

I've got alsa working after after a major OOPS but don't have sound via
mplayer with the error message above.

> Tux:~# apt-get install esound-common
> Reading package lists... Done
> Building dependency tree... Done
> esound-common is already the newest version.


'esound-common' is the latest version on my Deb unstable system ..

> audio_setup: Can't open audio device /dev/dsp: Permission denied
> AO: [esd] esd_open_sound failed: No such file or directory


> Tux:~# chmod 644 /dev/dsp
> Tux:~# chown 644 /dev/dsp

Does nothing.
