That seems to be the difference...

Run xvinfo and see what other ports are available, and manually set that
with -vo xv:port=??

Or better yet, upgrade to CVS...  Reimar added vsync for the blitter
about then...

It seems strange that MPlayer doesn't select the actual overlay first...
 Do you have vo=xv:port=?? in your config file?  What videocard are you
using?  What does xvinfo report, etc.
