[MPlayer-users] Autodetection of .flv files

Well, it plays the file nicely but the ultimate goal is to have it 
autodetected.
If I force -demuxer lavf, normal mpeg2 files don't use xvmc, and I'm 
back at square zero.
With the slow processor I need xvmc for dvd-type files.

Does mplayer have autodetection based on file content and what file 
should I look into?
Obviously the "file" command recognizes it, so it should be doable.
