[MPlayer-users] Problem searching in dvds

An annoying problem I have with mplayer, at least with the dvds that my
dvd-recorder creates.
Looking for a time in a title seems to be very difficult. Skipping 10 seconds
seems to work well. Skipping one minute seems to work well just at the
beginning, then I don't know where I am, the OSD indicates a lower time for
the current time, I think mplayer gives the current time inside the current
chapter, not the current time in the whole title.
Skipping 10 minutes in fact skips a lot more. Pressing pgup 3 times and I'm
out of the movie.
-ss only works for the first 3 minutes and 40 secs. -ss 3:41 closes mplayer.
Is this a known problem?
This is what it says with mplayer dvd://1 -v:

The funny thing is that -ss 5:00 works but in fact jumps 19 minutes, although
OSD says 5:00.
I tried with xine, and there's no problem at all searching at any place of the
movie.
