I really need some help here! I have being trying to capture an old VHS tape with mplayer unseccesfully for the last 3 months. So far I have being able only to see the tape with programs like tvtime and Kdetv. The capture card that I have is a Kworld DVD Maker PCI (the card is a TV883 PCI TV card). The command line that I am using in mplayer is the following: mplayer tv:// -tv input=2:driver=v4l2:decimation=1:width=640:height=480:norm=NTSC:fps=29.97:device=/dev/video1.

Whith this command line I only get a very dark and distorted picture. (Using the same paremeters like NTSC and composite 1 in tvtime, I get a good image)

The out put that I get from mplayer when I run the above command line is the following:
MPlayer 2:0.99+1.0pre7try2+cvs20060117-0ubuntu8 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team

Any suggestions how can I make this work?
What is format BGR24? Do I have to use a presacling, since the VHS is interlaced? What is the planar YV12 conver? Do I need to change that?

Please help and consider that I am a newbie to Linux also.
Regards
Daniel
