[MPlayer-users] how to play DVD with mplayer?

According to the manual, I think the command should be "mplayer dvd://[title
| [start_title]-end_title ] [options]"
I tried using "mplayer dvd://1", but got the error like this:
Playing dvd://1.
Couldn't open DVD device: /dev/dvd
File not found: '1'
Failed to open dvd://1
Exiting... (End of file)

By the way, it seems that I have /dev/dvd, but I have dvd-rom.
So what is the problem? That I don't have a dvd driver or that I don't write
the correct title in the command?
