hi, sorry for using wrong terms, i compiled with only --enable-gui.

but now i am not sure if i understand you.
i tried:

nowhiskey at murija2:~$ mplayer -vo xv -ao jack /media/cdrom0
MPlayer dev-SVN-r19235-4.0.4 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel(R) Celeron(R) M processor 1.40GHz (Family: 6, Model:
13, Stepping: 8)
CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1
Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 SSE SSE2

Failed to open /dev/rtc: Permission denied (it should be readable by the
user.)

Playing /media/cdrom0.
Win32 LoadLibrary failed to load: avisynth.dll,
/usr/local/lib/codecs/avisynth.dll, /usr/lib/win32/avisynth.dll,
/usr/local/lib/win32/avisynth.dll

nowhiskey at murija2:~$

downloading avysynth.dll (from 2.05) and putting it to the codecs
location does not helps, it only freezes mplayer so that i cannot even
kill it.

trying mplayer -v:

nowhiskey at murija2:~$ mplayer -v dvd://1
