Hi,
i am using the debian 'testing' dist with kernel-2.6.15 and mozilla-firefox1.5.
i have installed the debian-mallirat version of mplayer as well the mozilla plugin package mozilla-mplayer.
i am able to play video files offline. So far i have tried files of format such as .rm, .wmv, .avi and .mov.
but with firefox browser, i can only stream videos of .mov format. i suspect the codecs. i had downloaded 'essentials' from the mplayer site, extracted the files to /usr/local/lib/codecs, /usr/lib/codecs and /usr/lib/win32. (i don't know exactly which dir is being used.) But i still can't view streaming videos besides those of type .,mov format.
What i get is a blank white window.
What have i missed?
