This cannot currently be done, because some of the text which MPlayer
outputs is printed via stdout and would corrupt the data stream.
Progress towards correcting this is intermittent but ongoing, and once
it is complete output via stdout is likely to be added; in the meantime,
patches in that direction are welcome.
