Recently I found some video which mplayer could not playback. On Windows this video plays fine with http://www.on2.com/cms-data/downloads/vp6_decoder.exe.

I tryed mplayer 1.0pre7try2 and dev-CVS-060419-12:33 with win32-codecs-3.1.0.p7_1,1 (all-20050412.tar.bz2) on FreeBSD 6.1-RC.

$ ./mplayer /usr/multimedia/films/alf/ALF.\[Alien_Life_Form\]_2_ru_part2.avi

It seems there is no Xvideo support for your video card available.
Run 'xvinfo' to verify its Xv support and read DOCS/HTML/en/video.html#xv!
See 'mplayer -vo help' for other (non-xv) video out drivers. Try -vo x11
==========================================================================
Opening video decoder: [vfwex] Win32/VfWex video codecs
Loading codec DLL: 'vp6vfw.dll'
Unsupported VP6 version
Can't open library vp6vfw.dll
ICOpen failed! unknown codec / wrong parameters?
VDecoder init failed :(
Cannot find codec matching selected -vo and video format 0x32365056.

What can I do to playback this file with mplayer?

Thanks!
