[MPlayer-users] [Slightly OT] Olympus .dss files?

Olympus (and maybe others) use a format called dss or digital speech
standard to compress audio (mainly speech) files for use in transcribers
etc. i.e. I use an Olympus handheld digital dictaphone and then email
the resulting dss file to secretary in $FAVOURITELOWWAGECOUNTRY.

Does anyone round here know if mplayer, or any other linux/free media
player, will play these files?
