If that is the case, then, yes, post to ffmpeg-devel. It's actually 
pretty easy to reproduce on i386 and amd64.

1. Find a big Apple h.264 trailer.
2. $ bzip2 < /dev/urandom > /dev/null
3. Switch to another terminal.
4. $ nice -n 19 mplayer -framedrop -vo null some_big_file.mov
