I can reproduce the problem: the stream seems to be partially broken.
lavf doesn't even play the file.
Unfortunately I don't know what can be done to fix this problem:
liba52 can't decode frames until it finds a correct syncpoint, so the 
audio timer lags
behind video and when the difference is too big mplayer makes a mess.
