[MPlayer-users] -frames has changed in CVS

Hi,
I have found another change in the way the option -frames works now.
Before (up to MPlayer 1.0pre7) the command:

mplayer dvd://1 -frames 100
would render 100 frames stopping at time 4 seconds (for PAL source)

and the command:
mplayer dvd://1 -frames 100 -vf framestep=I
would render less than 10 frames stopping after reaching the first 100 frames.

With CVS the command:

mplayer dvd://1 -frames 100 -vf framestep=I

instead will render exactly 100 key frames, stopping after frames 1500.

Is there a good reason for this change?
The old way of working makes a lot more sense to me.

And may be the change of -frames is also related to this other post of mine:

Regards.
Giacomo
