you can try to find the aid's in the dvd then try to play the dvd with -aid switch...

for example
mplayer -v
so you find the dvd language aid, in italy are 129 for dts and 128 for dolby, sometimes i have to do
mplayer -aid 128 dvd://1
to not hear buzzing sound...
