[MPlayer-users] [BUGREPORT] Odd audio bug handling VCD image

Many many times I've created SVCD-compatible MPEG files with mencoder,
made a VCD image with vcdimager (0.7.21), and previewed it with mplayer
before recording.  This time, though, mplayer (CVS) outputs some
messages about an error in the video-stream, and cannot play audio. 
Strangely enough, mplayer 0.93 plays it perfectly without any error
messages at all... 

Once recorded to disc, mplayer (CVS) plays the VCD just fine, as do
stand-alone DVD players.

Interesting side-note, I tried to create a smaller sample using
dd, but even with copies only 10 MBs shorter than the original,
mplayer will then be able to play it with sound and without errors... 
What a crazy bug.
