MHO:
When splitted, please rename them so that the file name will tell what
part of the video the parts are from.

Bad examples:
part1.avi, part2.avi, part3.avi
part1of3.avi, part2of3.avi, part 3of3.avi

Good examples:
part_0-59m-.avi, part_-59m-1h20m-.avi, part_-1h20m-2h10m.avi
part_0m-59m-.avi, part_-59m-80m-.avi, part_-80m-130m.avi
part_0-59m10s-.avi, part_-59m10s-1h20m30s-.avi, part_-1h20m30s-2h10m15s.avi

Do I need to explain why the latter examples are better that the first
ones? (I think I do)

Lets say, there is free movie on the Internet to be downloaded. It
has been coded several times with different codecs and quality, and has
been splitted into parts differently with each author who did the
recoding.

However, when tried to get the whole movie, say from p2p-networks, one
has hard time to download one missing part in the middle. If the names
of the parts of the movie would have filenames as in the "Good
examples", one could download the whole movie compining different parts
from different quality encodings. So if one has already these:
freeMovieHDTV_0-50m-.avi, freeMovieHDTV_-120m-180m.avi,
but downloading freeMovieHDTV_-51m-119m-.avi is not suffesfull, one
could download freeMovieVGA_-40m-3h.avi and that way have the whole
movie where the part 51m - 120m would be just in VGA-resolution but
would still be better than whole movie in VGA resolution or waiting
forever the missing HDTV part.

The logic is self explanatory? The "-" mark means in front of the time
string there is something in front of this file, "-" in the middle marks
what time slice the file holds of the whole, and "-" in the end means
something will follow this file.

In my opinion, this should be even standardized ;-) and mentioned for
example also in MPlayer manuals.

Other opinions? (RFC?)
