[MPlayer-users] Jerky video encoding when using deinterlacers

Greetings all,
I have a rather odd problem.
The video i am trying to encode is 1440x1088 interlaced at 25fps.
Its a HDTV recording.
If i encode with just the VF options of "crop=1424:1072:8:6,scale=1024:576" i
get smoothly encoded video (ignoring the interlacing).
If i then add "pp=md" or any of the other deinterlacers, the encoded video jerks
every ~1sec throught the whole video.
I have tried different lavc options, but they done have an effect.
Only the "pp=md", "pp=lb", etc options cause the jerking video.
Doing a 2pass or 1pass encode does not make a difference.
A CVS version i was using thats a few weeks old had the problem, as does my
current build of todays CVS version.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
