[MPlayer-users] 5.1 audio through SPDIF

Hi,
   I've been struggling with this for a few weeks, and have read all
of the forums I could find but I am still stumped.

I can play music through mplayer which gets output over the SPDIF
output to my receiver.  However, I seem to be having trouble getting
this to work with 5.1 audio.

If I use this command:
mplayer //dvd:
I get audio through the center channel ONLY

I get a buzzing and clicking sound coming through my speakers.
