[MPlayer-users] Setting geometry of output window does not work

The size is perfect but the position is the problem. I changed
-geometry to "-geometry 40:80" but I do not see any difference
compared to mplayer running w/o the -geometry parameter.
So it seems the "-geometry" parameter has no effect. Any idea why?
This is my command line:
/usr/bin/mplayer -autosync 100 -nolirc -autoq 100 -fs -slave -ao alsa1x:surround51
-channels 6 -af
pan=6:100:0:0:0:100:100:0:100:0:0:100:100:0:0:100:0:0:0:0:0:0:100:0:0
-v -vo xv,sdl,x11, -geometry 30:80 -cache 5000 -idx -vc xvid,
